Should I
Now that we have experienced a few extremely hot and humid days I have proof that my A/C does not work as it should, and as I figured when I bought the house. When I purchased the house I did request a 1 year home warranty which I received. Here is my question... should I purposefully cause my compressor to blow and cash in on the home warranty and request that my company replace it, or just tell the bossman that my A/C isnt working properly and risk having to actually purchase, at a discounted price, a new system. My house didnt reach below 80 degrees during the day on Saturday and Sunday, so I know I have some issues, but I am not completely sure that the system is so bad that it would be codemned quite yet. What is the current punishment for insurance fraud by the way?

the A/C at Woodland Circle worked horribly. After numerous repairs, we found that a major problem was leaky air returns. They fixed some, but I reckon they didn't cath them all. Make sure that it isn't a problem, or else no repairs to your compressor will help.
I say that if it manages to completely crap out (compressor part) for "whatever" reason you cash in on the warranty. That's why you bought it or had the owner purchase it and not knock another 500 off the amount you were going to finance. Your company gets anotherresidential job to keep people busy, you get a system that works as I would guess that they would correct the crap installation you know you already have while they are there replacing the unit and best of all you get utility effeciencies over what you have no to help offset some if any cost you may incurr.
from my personal experience, force the insurance company to pay for it as it is your new home and in no way your fault from a maintenance point of view.
